This furniture is super chic and modern. Not easy to assemble. This is sturdy and attractive and works well for us.The first thought when this end table arrived was HEAVY. But as soon as I opened it I realized that it was within a bunch of poorly packed styrofoam, it looked like everything was just tossed into the box, carelessly.Next I noticed it smelled really bad. It was so gross that I had to air my house out for a couple hours with 40 degree temperature outside. That smell didn't go away completely for 4 days and I still smell it when I open a drawer. The odor is similar to burned plastic.A lot of the pieces were damaged but always on the backside where it won't be noticeable. Some of the cam locks won't spin and lock all the way leaving the end table unsturdy. The table itself is pretty awesome, the wood is really thick and the dark gold color looks really nice. The drawers are oversized and they roll good.Overall, it's a shame because it could be an easy 5 stars if quality control and packaging was much better.Would I recommend this end table at the listed $199.99? I would say yes but only if you have a garage to assemble it and let air out and you really like it because it's unique looking and in design (very large).Foremost, this arrives in many, many pieces. While the estimated time for assembly is one hour (as listed in the booklet), it took us a little over two (with two of us working on it).The base, which should arrive pre-assembled (according to the booklet), arrived in two pieces. It was not until we were nearly done that we realized it should have arrived assembled ... so the bolts required to affix the bottom of the table to the brass base are missing. Right now, we have the table perched on the metal base. It is very heavy, so it will not accidentally go anywhere. But, we will need to order four bolts and eventually affix the table to the base. Now, all pieces arrived either chipped or scratched. Likewise, all were coated in a greyish dust/film as well as small white bits of polystyrene. We needed to vacuum each piece and then use a Swiffer cloth on each piece. (And then vacuum the garage where we unpacked it and the foyer where we assembled it). When we completed the assembly, we wiped it down with a damp microfiber cloth. From a distance, it looks solid and expensive. Up close, it is scratched and chipped ... with all corners crushed. And, the bottom of the drawers is a thick cardboard material so we are avoiding putting anything of genuine weight in these drawers. No doubt, it has potential. I think that under ideal conditions, this could be a lovely piece for the money.I was excited to get this together and put up in our bedroom. Even though it's a trendy-looking end table my SO thought it would work great as a nightstand and would have a lot of surface area for books, kindle, chargers, phones, and whatever else. The shockingly heavy box arrived, and I opened it only to be greeted by what I can only refer to as a tsunami of styrofoam pieces. They flew everywhere and as I took pieces of the furniture out, more and more tiny chunks poured out. We had to resort to taking out a piece, vacuuming it off, and then moving onto the next. Three of the larger pieces were damaged in shipping with one corner being completely crushed.I was able to assemble it so that most of the worst damage could only be seen on the back and right side where it sat next to the bedside. The top has scratches, but we covered them with a little black paint. The issue isn't that they tossed it around in shipping, that's a given. The problem is that the styrofoam used inside the box was thin and brittle. Ikea packs their stuff well enough to survive shipping. Most of the furniture I've received in the mail, including a huge bookshelf, entertainment center, and several computer desks. None of them had this kind of damage. This a lovely end table, and I hope that if you plan to order one it shows up without being mangled during shipping. This is a really nice looking end table/night stand. The materials are heavy when packaged and the "two lift" team sticker is no joke. The hardware (pulls and legs piece) is exceptionally high quality while the wood, while MDF is a good grade and thickness. The interior or base of the drawers are a bit thinner and have more flimsily (in comparison to the rest) bases. Many of the ends had chips taken out. We were exceptionally lucky that all visible damages is at the back and is easily hide-able. Took about an hour to put together, we did use an electric drill to speed up the process (lowest torque setting)While this looks great in the room for the price point the damages just aren't acceptable. This end table is very sturdy. It was a little bit of a pain to put together but looks fantastic. I love the way it looks all set up and how nice the drawers slide. But when it came it was all scratched up.Once assembled this is a fairly impressive table. Assembly is a hassle. The directions are barely adequate. but the quality is uneven. I wound up having to drill some holes and some of the included hardware was damaged but useable. But the end result is impressive. The MDF material is thick. The two draws roll smoothly and the table doesn't wobble. It has a chic, contemporary look and is nice and sturdy.
